使える言葉: used to

今日はレッスンで現在の習慣、過去の習慣についていろいろ話してみました。

そこで、"used to" っていう言葉の二つの使い方に触れました。

(1) 過去の習慣

I used to eat a lot of fast food when I was a university student.
大学生の時はファストフードをたくさん食べていた。

I used to play tennis more often than I do now.
昔は現在よりもっとよくテニスをしていた。

(2) ~に慣れること

Have you gotten used to speaking in English every day?
毎日英語でしゃべること、慣れた？

I still can't get used to life in Singapore.
シンガポールでの生活はまだ慣れない。

以上の例文、役に立つといいです！

こんにちは。A warm hello to all of you in Singapore and beyond!

This blog is a platform for me to share my love for languages, and the conversation classes I've come up with to help people practise conversation in a lighthearted manner. There is no need to be stressed about getting the most out of expensive classes at an expensive institution. Language is not a rigid thing to be kept within the classroom. Let's explore!

It's been... 3 years since I graduated from a Japanese university. My first venture aims to help Japanese friends in Singapore get more practice in English conversation.
